The Attention Economy, coined by profffesor Tim Wu, is the concept that recognises the revenue models on which most of the web are built; harvesting users' data in order to micro-target users' attention. Contrasted to traditional revenue model where the customer is the user and their interest where represented, we are now living in an age where all digital services fund themselves by reselling the attention of users to firms. Creating a particular financial incentives which structurally is at odds with the goals of people.
